Facebook
May 9, 2007

What an intriguing website. To tell you the truth, I haven't signed up for it. I guess my website is already like a facebook, just not plugged in to other people's sites. I've heard a lot of interesting things: "It's a stalker's paradise", "It's addicting", "I wish I hadn't gotten sucked into it", "Some people are obsessed with getting as many friend's on their facebook as possible, even if they don't know the person".

I really like the idea in general: Being able to see what people from high school, university, church, etc, are up to even if you haven't had the chance to see them recently. But being able to snoop on conversations seems a bit much. Too bad you can't take a peak without signing up. But I guess that's how it grows: People are sucked in and then...

Update: June 16: Well, I've done it. I've signed up. Eek.

on10.net
April 13, 2007

Last night I discovered on10.net, which appears to be a Microsoft-created site for reporting on new products and technologies in an entertaining, spunky style. The site makes heavy use of video and pretty pictures / layouts, and supports an impressive number of download formats: iPod, MP3, PSP, WMA, WMV, High-def WMV, and Zune. I like the spirit of this site.

Worst hockey play ever
January 5, 2007

January 4th, 2007. The Stars lead the Oilers 5-4 with about 10 seconds left in third period. The Oilers have their goalie pulled and Dallas forward Patrick Stefan gets a clearcut breakaway from the blueline on an empty net. The rest is now hockey history.
